Arthur has more than 25 years’ experience in civil and environmental engineering and infrastructure development, with expertise in consultation and planning, design management, and tender and construction contract management. His experience covers all aspects of project scoping, feasibility studies, economic analyses, planning, investigations, design, consultation, consenting, tender administration, and construction management.

Arthur was appointed as an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (O.N.Z.M) by Her Majesty The Queen in recognition of his services to engineering in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2019. The New Zealand Order of Merit, instituted by Royal Warrant is awarded to those “who, in any field of endeavour, have rendered meritorious service to the Crown and the nation or who have become distinguished by their eminence, talents, contributions, or other merits”.

Arthur is a Fellow of Engineering New Zealand, elected for his contribution to the advancement of engineering practice, with special recognition for his contribution to major award-winning solid waste and environmental protection projects in which modern technology has been adopted, and for his part in documenting good practice guidelines for landfill design and management.

In 2018 Arthur received the Engineering New Zealand Excellence in Service Award to mark 100 years of engineering in Auckland. The Excellence in Service Award recognises an exceptional engineer who is setting a high standard for others to follow including:

  • Serving selflessly for the benefit of the community.
  • Using their unique engineering skills for the benefit of others.

  • Making an outstanding contribution to the profession.

  • Practising engineering in a way that gives back to the industry and wider community.
