Nigel has wide-ranging experience, having worked in the civil engineering field since 1972.  He manages teams of engineers, geologists, and technicians engaged on civil, geotechnical, environmental and hydrological projects.  

Nigel is involved from initial site assessment and conceptual discussions with clients, through the management of investigations; overseeing the development of technical solutions; editing and approving reports and drawings for tendering and construction; and contract administration and supervision, to project completion.   Geotechnical experience includes investigations for subdivisions, high rise building foundations, resorts, industrial complexes, petrochemical developments, bridges, road and tunnel alignments, together with slope stability assessments, effluent disposal evaluations, certification of earthworks, and foundation construction.   Design and construction supervision includes building foundations, retaining walls, stormwater detention systems, road pavements, earth embankments, pre-loading measures, marinas, cuttings, tunnels, and stability improvement works.
Nigel enjoys the challenge of working on projects in the Pacific Islands.  He has completed dozens of geotechnical projects in Fiji, Samoa, Rarotonga, Nauru and the Federated States of Micronesia.
On a personal note Nigel has three married children, and five grandchildren.  He is a keen gardener and photographer and finds time to spend with his grandchildren.  He enjoys snorkelling on tropical islands, snow skiing and tramping in New Zealand.  He and his wife are working their way through the Great Walks.  Nigel is involved in community service in budget training and serves on a charitable trust overseeing investments and donating funds to groups throughout the country.
