Field Technician

We are looking for an enthusiastic Field Technician to join our friendly Takapuna team.

The Role

The role involves:

  • Undertaking geotechnical field testing and investigations.
  • Preparing test/field logs.
  • Drafting.
  • Good communication and report writing skills.
  • Planning and co-ordinating fieldwork.
  • Liaising with and managing sub-contractors.
  • Co-ordinating and monitoring health & safety.
  • Managing and maintaining field equipment.
  • Site construction observations.
  • Preparation of completion documentation.

About You

We are interested in hearing from people with 3+ years’ experience in undertaking geotechnical field investigations and construction observations.  Key requirements include good computer and communication skills, the ability to plan and organise effectively, and troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise.

As the position involves the operation of heavy testing equipment you will need to be physically fit.  You will also need to be comfortable spending much of your working day in the field, be flexible, and be able to adapt to changes in the field should unforeseen issues arise.  A full driver’s licence is also a requirement.
