| Hudson Road Business Centre, Warkworth |
| Geotechnical evaluation and civil input for the development of a Greenfield site underlain by variable alluvial materials and traversed by a stream with ecological value. Investigation included a review of significant engineering impediments to development from both economic and consenting viewpoints. Civil work involved a preliminary flood risk assessment; design of a stormwater attenuation and treatment pond; and consultation with Council staff regarding public infrastructure, ie water supply and wastewater capacity issues. The proposed staged development will have up to 60,000m² floor area comprising a retail and business centre with large footprint buildings; trade industry; work units; car parks; and a service station. |

| New Zealand Post |
| Geotechnical investigation for the proposed construction of two single-storey office extensions on the eastern side of an existing New Zealand Post warehouse building. Investigation included assessment of soil conditions; provision of foundation recommendations; and inspection and testing of exposed footing excavations. A report was prepared for submission to Manukau City Council. |

| TNT Warehouse |
| RILEY was commissioned to undertake a geotechnical investigation at Auckland Airport in support of a Building Consent Application to Manukau City Council, for a proposed warehouse, with an adjacent two level office. The report detailed the investigation and assessment for founding conditions of the proposed development. Field testing and site supervision of foundation construction was also undertaken. |

| Foodtown Supermarket |
Assessment of geotechnical, wastewater and environmental aspects for a proposed supermarket, large carpark and separate tenancies building on Waiheke Island. Work included a detailed geotechnical and contaminated site investigation and wastewater review. Further work including stormwater inputs are currently being undertaken for revised layout options.

| Stockyards Falls Bulk Retail Facility |
| Project management, detailed civil design, consenting and construction supervision for a bulk retail development. Initial Work included preparation of a supporting engineering documentation for a Plan Change and Land Use consent application for a bulk retail centre on a rural zoned 20ha site on the outskirts of Warkworth. Significant earthworks were required to prepare the site for development. A staged construction methodology was developed to mitigate the effects of the proposed works along with a comprehensive use of the methods presented in TP90 for erosion and sediment control. This extended to the use of chemical flocculation in the sediment control pond. The strict management of the earthworks was vital due to the location of the Mahurangi River along the northern boundary of the site and the presence downstream of the Warkworth municipal water supply intake and treatment plant (approximately 1km downstream from the site). Due to the sensitivity of the receiving environment, the development required a high degree of engineering input. Particular detail was required for the development of an esplanade reserve between the bulk retail centre and the Mahurangi River. This involved developing engineering solutions based on an architectural layout plan, including a wetland stormwater treatment pond, pedestrian walkway and landscape planting. This work included extensive consultation with Rodney District Council and the Auckland Regional Council and the subsequent granting of resource consents. |
