Roading Case Studies

Upper Harbour Highway, Greenhithe
Responsible for the final design and supervision of Miragrid reinforced slopes for three culverts, up to 15m high. The wrapped face walls enable a ‘green facing’ in environmentally sensitive areas. Three mechanically stabilised earth walls (MSE) up to 100m long and, in places, 7m high.
SH20, Manukau Extension
Engaged to overview and co-ordinate geotechnical design of bridges and embankments; reviewing design packages; liaising with contractors; overseeing supervision of design implementation through to construction; identifying potential conflicts (risks) in design; and co-ordinating with third party reviewers and the client.
Langsview, Whangarei
Design of 800m two lane shared accessway to Austroads standards, including selection of appropriate alignment in steep highly incised terrain, geotechnical investigation for assistance with feasibility and costings, appropriate bridging and retaining solutions to minimise environmental impacts and full horizontal and vertical geometric design using 12D model.
Matakana, Rodney District
Design of 1km of public roading for a 23 lot subdivision in a rural area, zoned countryside living. Designs conform to Rodney District Council and Austroads standards. Report prepared for submission to Local and Regional Councils for Land Use, Discharge and Sediment Control Consents.
Park Rise, Campbells Bay
Subdivision designed for difficult topography. The project called for an innovative roading design which allowed for access to building platforms whilst enabling good stormwater management. Design of accessway and two bridge crossings. Contract documentation, tendering and supervision during construction.
