Thomas Fritz

Thomas has a broad skillset in dam safety and water resources, with a particular interest in risk and risk-based decision-making.

After arriving in New Zealand in 2007, Thomas joined a project management consultancy and managed water and stormwater capital projects for Tauranga City. In 2011 he moved to Trustpower’s hydro development team.

In 2015 Thomas became Trustpower’s Lead Engineer Dam Safety and Water Resources and represented the company on the management committee of the New Zealand Society on Large Dams (NZSOLD) from 2016 to 2021.

His eight years’ experience in Germany after graduating involved working for a Frankfurt-based consultancy and carrying out project and programme management for Deutsche Bahn (German Rail) and Frankfurt Airport.

OUTSIDE WORK: Thomas enjoys spending time with his family.
