 THE POSITION 

The position involves working in the area of dam safety for a range of clients, including a significant New Zealand dam owner. The work includes involvement in all aspects of the following:
• Dam Safety Assurance Programmes (DSAP), which includes dam monitoring and surveillance, intermediate and comprehensive dam safety reviews, and emergency response planning. A key part of this is the involvement in assessing and resolving a range of dam safety deficiencies.
• Potential Impact Classifications (PIC). The applicant should have an interest in becoming a Recognised Engineer for both DSAP and PIC.

There is also scope, depending on an individual’s background and interest areas, to carry out other technical work in support of water infrastructure projects.

Supporting the management of projects and client relationships will also form a key aspect of the position.

 ABOUT YOU 

We are interested in hearing from people who have the following:
• A qualified Civil Engineer.
• 5+ years’ experience in dam safety (monitoring and surveillance, dam safety reviews, and potential impact assessments).
• Contextual understanding of other interfacing disciplines that apply to dam safety.
• Strong project management and client relationship skills.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Strong initiative and an openness to take on new challenges.
• Interest in coaching and developing others in dam safety management.
