Do you enjoy being out on site, solving problems, working alongside contractors and colleagues, and seeing projects come to life firsthand?
This is a role for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys variety, and would rather be out in the field than behind a desk all day. You will play a key role in supporting geotechnical projects through field investigations, construction observations and site coordination. Working alongside our geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists, you'll help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard while spending much of your time where the action happens, out in the field.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll be involved in:

Coordinating and supervising geotechnical field investigations and construction observations

Managing contractors, site resources, health and safety requirements, and field programmes

Undertaking and overseeing logging, field testing and data collection

Preparing field records, site plans, reports and project documentation

Supporting project delivery through investigation planning, technical reporting and stakeholder management

Providing field leadership and mentoring less experienced team members
ABOUT YOU
You'll likely bring:

Experience delivering geotechnical field investigations and construction observations

Strong knowledge of soil and rock logging, sampling, field testing and site investigation methods

Experience coordinating contractors and managing field-based activities

Construction supervision and completion reporting experience

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

A practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

A commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards
-
A full New Zealand Driver Licence

Willingness to travel
Experience with CAD, QGIS, logging or similar software would be advantageous.
